BRADFORD snowboarder Katie Ormerod is well on her way to securing her place at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

The 19-year-old finished third at the Big Air World Cup Olympic Test event which took place in Alpensia, South Korea.

It was her second podium finish of the season after finishing runner-up at the Pleasure Jam event in Austria the previous week.

Ormerod said: "I landed both of the runs I wanted. I am super happy to get bronze, especially as the standard of riding was the highest it's been."

Ormerod, who lives in Brighouse, became a YouTube sensation at the age of 16 after a video emerged of her landing the Double Cork 1080. which made her the only female ever to land the flip. She still holds that record to this day.

Her next event is another Big Air World Cup qualification event in Germany, before she travels to Colorado for further contests.
