FIVE Taylor's Timber West Riding County Amateur League Premier Division teams have secured their place in the last 16 of the West Riding County FA Challenge Cup.

Campion's second string came out on top in an eight-goal thriller against top-flight rivals Huddersfield YMCA.

Goals from Jordan Missin, Liam Charles, Chris Helliwell and Jordan Hagyard had put Campion into a 4-3 second-half advantage, Brighton Mugadza, Luke Peacock and Connor Tuff replying to leave the tie finally balanced.

With the visitors striving for an equaliser to send the game into a penalty shoot-out, Josh Ludford struck a last-minute goal for Campion to book a trip to West Yorkshire League Premier Division leaders Carlton Athletic next month.

Steeton also progressed as two goals from Andy Briggs and one by Lee Reilly gave them a 3-2 success at Headingley AFC and a tie at Premier Division rivals Littletown, who advanced with a 3-2 home win as George Porter (2) and Keiron Senior netted against Drighlington.

Salts had two goals from the boot of Dave Boote and one by Tom Hickey to give them a 3-2 home win over Farsley Celtic Juniors and a home tie against Horbury Town in the fourth round.

Lower Hopton completed the quintet of successful sides when a first-half goal from Mat Mulvihill game them a home win over St Nicholas, securing a home tie against Sherburn White Rose.

Both Thornton United and their reserve side clinched places in the fourth round of the West Riding County FA Challenge Trophy.

Danny Walker (2), Ryan Stubbs and Marcus Davey were the first team's marksmen in a 4-0 victory over Kellingley Welfare, while their seconds beat Otley Town Reserves 3-0 thanks to Ross Parr, Elliott Holmes and Hayden Sykes.

Bradford FC and Oxenhope Recreation Reserves were locked at 4-4 after 90 minutes before Oxenhope's second string won the penalty shoot-out 4-1.

Golcar United's reserve side also advanced with a 2-1 victory at Leeds City Rovers Reserves, while Steeton Reserves went through when visitors Bradford Gateway were unable to raise a team.

The fourth-round draw includes Wortley v Thornton United, Steeton Reserves v Halton Moor, Oxenhope Recreation Reserves v Kirkheaton and AFC Junction v Thornton United Reserves.

Only two games were played in the West Riding County Amateur League Premier Division.

Leaders Newsome opened a three-point gap over Huddersfield YMCA with a 6-0 home win over Honley, while Golcar United – with a 4-3 home success over Lepton Highlanders – moved above Littletown into third.

Britannia Sports and Holmfirth Town, the two leading teams in Division One, both improved their promotion chances with victories.

Nicky Kitson scored both Britannia Sports' goals in their 2-0 win at Ventus-Yeadon Celtic, while Adam Stephenson (4) and Ben Modeste gave Holmfirth Town a 5-0 home success over Tyersal.

West Horton moved into third place, ahead of Wakefield City on goal difference, following their 5-1 success at Churwell Lions, with Lee Smith scoring three.

Route One Rovers climbed to fifth after beating Wibsey 3-2. Danyal Yasin, Hassan Ali and Shoaib Iqbal netted for Route One, with Jonathon Burston and Daniel O'Donnell replying.

Hunsworth picked up only their second win of the season with a 4-1 defeat of fellow strugglers Westbrook YMCA.

TVR United and Salts Reserves, who lead the way in Division Two with 29 points each, both posted 6-0 home wins.

Salts, with strikes from Ryan Whitfield (3), Wayne Walsh (2) and Adam Sadowskyj, beat Tingley Athletic, while TVR United had braces from Danyal Hussain and Jinard Taj, plus a goal each from Faisal Shabir and Abid Khan, in their victory over DRAM Community FC Reserves.
