SCRUM HALF Josh Hattie and wingman Cameron Foster posted 'doubles' as Bradford Victoria Rangers ran out 24-12 winners against Wyke in their Pennine League Division One derby at Eccleshill Sports Club.

The Black and Whites got the scoreboard rolling with a Ben Procter penalty before Rangers hit the front with a touchdown from centre Aiden Scully, converted by stand-off Sam Thornton.

A try in the corner from centre Sam Kittsen levelled matters until Hattie sprinted over for his first try and Thornton once again ensured full reward.

The visitors restored parity with a fine individual effort from Scott Watson, and wingman Procter tagged on the extras to see the sides swap ends all square at 12-12.

The second period belonged to the Vics, who went on to score three tries without reply through Hattie and Foster (2), and finished the game worthy winners.

Wyke’s discipline was poor which was reflected in the 10-1 against penalty count, and centre Ryan Exley was their best on the day.

Birkenshaw secured their second Division Three win on the trot with a 31-20 success at Dewsbury Celtic.

Birky loose forward Callum Wilkins was the star of the show, having a huge say in the five tries coming from scrum half Jarrad Toulson, hooker Matt Honysett, centre Chris Walker and prop Andy Berry.

Full back Gary Procter also crossed and kicked four conversions with Toulson adding a goal and a drop goal to the tariff.

In Division Four, Queensbury lost out 21-20 in a thriller at Kings Cross Park.

Bury opened the scoring early on with a solo effort from Ethan Sharp which he converted himself.

Bury struck again 10 minutes later through wingman Chris Hanson, but the hosts hit back with two converted tries in quick succession to level matters.

Scott Smith then latched onto a long pass from Jonny Norman to steam through a gap and Sharp added the extras to see Bury into the interval 12-16 up.

The hosts were quick off the mark on the restart with two touchdowns to regain the ascendancy, but Bury looked to be on route for a share of the spoils when wingman Jake Handon touched down in the corner.

Kings Cross turned the screw and again took the lead 24-20. However, with just five minutes left Bury could have won the game when Nathan Burke powered over in the corner but Sharp failed to add the difficult extras.

Kings Cross then pounced on a handling mistake and slotted over a last minute drop goal to take the spoils.
