Yorkshire Division Three: Baildon 23 Harrogate Pythons 7

LEADERS Baildon made it seven wins from seven, despite some of their players being affected following a stag weekend in Budapest.

Full back Matty Robinson and lock Tom Peel crossed off, while the whole front row were under the weather.

Harrogate Pythons kicked off up the slope but scored the first try when scrum half Ivan Drane scored from a tap penalty, with the conversion being added.

With rain falling, the hosts hit back with two JJ O'Connell penalties, giving them a one-point deficit going into the second half.

Buoyed by a peach of a Ricky Powell kick, Baildon got their driving game going, and Pythons had a man sin-binned by referee Tom Lynskey for infringing.

Danny Pollard tapped the penalty and the ball went to Jack Aaron and Dale Tabiner, who drew his man before putting stand-in winger Matty Dixon in for a try, O'Connell converting to make it 13-7.

However, Tabiner dislocated a shoulder during the attack, with Dixon reverting to the pack and Josh Strauss going on the wing.

Baildon decided to squeeze the depleted Pythons via Ross McUrich in midfield and Ryan Kershaw around the ruck, and extended their lead with a Joe Robinson try that O'Connell converted.

Andy Magee then made good yards before the visitors had another man yellow-carded to stop a driving maul, O'Connell landing the penalty.

However, it was Pythons, via Drane and lock Matt Leach, who finished the stronger as fatigue kicked in for Baildon, who conceded three scrum penalties, only avoiding a yellow card thanks to the stabilising effect of Will Tomlinson.
