ONLY seven Bradford Mutual Sunday School League games were completed on a day when the weather played a leading role.

One of those saw Group A leaders Girlington get the better of nine-man Salem Athletic by eight wickets.

Salem were all out for 139 in 32 overs, Waseem Khan scoring 60, with Girlington being steered to victory by captain Musawar Shah (73).

Omars were able to keep up the pressure at the summit and are 11 points behind in second place after beating Interlink by 21 runs.

Majid Hussain (77) and Qamar Sadiq (51) led Omars to 184 all out before Interlink were dismissed for 163 (Imran Shah 4-15), despite a second-wicket partnership of 103 between Zeshan Bacha (60) and skipper Yunus Bismillah (60no).

Bradford Moor remain third after relegating eight-man VVS Laxman with a four-wicket victory in the only other top-flight fixture to beat the rain.

Laxman were all out for 114 in 29.2 overs, Divyang Patel top-scoring with 55, and Moor were able to complete their task in 26.3 overs.

Just one Group B match was played to a conclusion and this saw Allerton earn a winning draw against second-placed Yorkshire LPS.

Allerton posted 210-5, with Wajid Hafeez scoring 71 and Rab Nawaz 61, and LPS reached 140-8 in response as Vivek Jaykumar scored 72 not out against Mohammed Naeem (4-29).

The shortage of action could not prevent Great Horton Church B being crowned champions, despite being denied a probable victory over bottom side Bowling Baptist.

Krishna Koyolamuddi (45) steered Baptist to 189-8 and Great Horton Church were 80-4 after 22 overs before the rain halted play.

Group C saw two games completed and one of these enabled Yorkshire Friends to climb above Greenfield to take over in top spot after beating West Bowling by seven wickets.

Both teams only had ten players and Bowling could muster just 73-7 in a match reduced to 36 overs a side, with Friends romping to victory in the 12th over. The loss leaves Bowling in the relegation zone.

Greenfield were in trouble on 55-7 (Murad Mirza 5-24) chasing fourth-placed Cambing's 158-9 when play was abandoned.

Hallfield remain third after a winning draw against Mayfield, who were thwarted on 114-4 in reply to Hallfield's 119 (Zaheer Hussain 4-23).

Greenfield climbed to the top of Group D after winning the only match in the section to reach a positive conclusion.

They beat ten-man Muff Field A by five wickets, who scored 97-9 in their 25 overs thanks to stalwart Mohammed Bismillah's 55.

Greenfield deposed a Mayfield side who were in danger of losing to Bradford Indians (Gaurav Kumar 42) after slipping to 54-8 in reply.
