WITH only four Aire-Wharfe League games left to sort out who finishes in triumph and who in despair, there is bound to be plenty of tension at grounds tomorrow – especially with modern technology allowing teams to follow the fortunes of their rivals as closely as their own.

Nowhere will that be more true than at Otley, who trail Division One leaders Beckwithshaw by just two points.

Otley have what appears a nailed-on win against relegation-threatened Kirkstall but will be aware that the Eddies found a new belief that they can escape the drop after beating North Leeds last week and will be scrapping for every point.

Meanwhile, Otley supporters will be checking their mobiles to see if fourth-placed Horsforth – with Byron Boshoff looking capable of taking on any attack – can dent Beckwithshaw's progress.

Burley, who tried and failed to do just that last week in a defeat that almost certainly ended their chances of snatching the title from third place, entertain fifth-placed Ilkley.

Pool will be expected to stretch their winning run to seven matches at Bilton, while Rawdon need to pick up maximum points against North Leeds to make sure they do not drop into the dogfight against relegation.

Rock-bottom Steeton are already deep in that battle and cannot afford any slip-ups against fellow strugglers Collingham if they are to mount a great escape.

With Knaresborough and Illingworth quitting the league at the end of the season, only one side will be relegated from Division Two with three coming up from Division Three – and Harden are firm favourites to be the side that drops down.

They can hold out little hope of victory tomorrow against leaders Colton, for whom victory will ensure promotion.

Second-placed Guiseley should also be in the top flight next season. They face Follifoot, one of two sides with an outside chance of catching them, and Guiseley will be conscious that – despite a 5-26 haul from Marcus Brown – the Harrogate outfit were only five runs away from victory when their last meeting was abandoned.

Ben Rhydding are the other side who have a slim chance of overhauling Guiseley but they need to win all their remaining matches, starting against Skipton, and hope other results go their way.

Thackley travel to Calverley needing a win to move them a bit further away from the drop zone, while Addingham will expect to emerge victorious against Illingworth.

Division Three is where there are most unanswered questions and second-placed Hall Park face one of their toughest challenges of the season as they travel to Leeds Modernians.

Leaders Modernians have looked unstoppable since the shock of being skittled out for 99 by Menston in early July and will start as hot favourites to complete the double against a Park side still smarting from last week's defeat to Olicanian.

Tong Park Esholt and Green Lane are hot on Hall Park's heels and, with very winnable games at Alwoodley and Bardsey respectively, both could climb above the Horsforth side.

Elsewhere in the section, Ed Broadley needs three wickets when Olicanian entertain struggling Silsden to reach 50 for the season, while Nadeem Hanif requires four from Menston's visit to Bolton Villas to reach the same landmark.
