JAY Pitts has today been officially confirmed as a London Broncos player on a two-year deal.

In a week when it was announced that Bulls captain Adrian Purtell is to join Andrew Henderson's side, Pitts will also head south next term.

The Ossett-based forward has proved a resounding success since joining Bradford, initially on loan from Hull FC, in April 2014.

Although the Bulls were relegated later that year, Pitts penned a permanent two-year deal to stay at Odsal.

The 26-year-old has become a mainstay of the team and scored the first hat-trick of his career in last weekend's 82-0 win over Oldham.

Yet with the Bulls under pressure to reduce costs following their failure to make the Championship's top four, Pitts has been allowed to leave.

Pitts said: “I’m thrilled to have been offered the opportunity to play with London.

"You can see, the Broncos are building a team for a successful future, and whether or not they gain promotion this year, they’ll give it a really good push.

“They’ve worked very hard as a squad to have a strong 2016 season, and should only come back stronger in 2017.

“The last three seasons at Bradford have been fantastic, and I’m very grateful to all the boys I’ve played with and all the coaching staff I’ve worked under during my time here.

“Bradford Bulls restored my passion and love for the game, and will remain a special place to me, but I am now looking forward to the next challenge in my career.

“A move to the capital is really exciting, and I’m really looking forward to joining the boys ahead of a big season next year.”

The former Wakefield and Leeds man will be one of at least 20 members of the 2016 squad who will not be here next season as head coach Rohan Smith embarks on a major rebuild.

The loan deals of Wakefield hooker Stuart Howarth and St Helens half-back Lewis Charnock expire at the end of the season, when their contracts at their parent clubs are also up.

The players contracted for next season include Kieren Moss, Chisholm, Kris Welham, James Clare, Adam O'Brien, Adam Sidlow, Ben Kavanagh, Kurt Haggerty, Oscar Thomas, Alex Mellor, Joe Lumb, Johnny Campbell, Vila Halafihi, Ethan Ryan and Joe Keyes.

James Bentley, Liam Kirk, Ross Oakes, Brandon Pickersgill, Josh Rickett and Brandan Wilkinson will also make the step up from the academy.

The acquisition of London trio Alex Foster, Iliess Macani and Jon Magrin on two-year deals was confirmed this week, while the return of Leon Pryce is set to be announced shortly.
