STUART McCall fears two-goal Tony McMahon could be out for up to six weeks with a torn thigh muscle.

McMahon scored twice from the penalty spot in City's 3-1 comeback win over Coventry.

But the skipper had to limp off before the end after taking a whack in the back of the leg from Kyel Reid.

And McCall admits it looks like he will be facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

McCall said: "I think it's going to be a long one. He's probably had a little bleed in his thigh from the dead leg and his muscle has tightened up as he's gone to cross the ball.

"It looks quite a severe tear which is really disappointing. He's been terrific all season."

McMahon's injury took the gloss off City's third win in four - which has put them in third in the early League One table. Mark Marshall scored the pick with a screamer from 25 yards.

McCall added: "I didn't rant and rave at half-time. We just had to change things and play in different areas of the park."
