FOR the second Saturday running, there were plenty of runs in the Dales Council League.

A Division leaders Halifax Direct were only a boundary away from making 300 at the Karmand Centre, scoring 295-8 (Munawar Chariwala 65, Majid Hussain 51no, Hassan Patel 51) against Drighlington, who were dismissed for 180 (Muhammad Iqbal 5-48).

Farnley Hill made 175-9 at Tong, but it wasn't enough as 55 from Mohammed Saeed Mirza helped second-placed New Wortley to 179-5, but even Cookridge's 275-5 (Waqas Ali 87, Colin Oates 58no, Dom Wyatt 53) didn't bring victory at Smithy Lane, Adil Wahid's 99 steering third-placed Bradford Moor to 281-9 in a thriller.

Leeds Sikh (185-7) got back on the winning track at Fulneck after Pudsey Congs made 183, while Thornbury triumphed by seven wickets against Woodhouse, who made 151 (Uzmat Munir 6-39), Yasir Javed replying with 61 not out.

Two matches in B Division were also thrillers, with Crompark (165-9) defeating Leeds Sikh B (162) by one wicket at Gledhow, and Thornbury B (156-9) doing likewise at Daleside Road against Adel (152-9).

Leaders Savile Stars (190-7) were victorious against Pudsey St Lawrence (188-8, Jack Gaunt 93no) at Laisterdyke but Cookridge B were on the end of an eight-wicket defeat at Caribbean after making only 72.

James Butterfield's 66 not out was the mainstay of Baildon's 146 at Jenny Lane, Adnan Sayed taking 5-20 as Shipley Providence Tong Park Esholt were then dismissed for 47.

Top scorers of the day were in C Division, Shipley Providence making 307-6 (Aniket Bhatt 69) at home to Great Horton Park Chapel, who were castled for 80.

Almost as emphatic was Farsley's victory over Baildon B at Clariant, with the hosts making 247-3 (James Hoyland 89no, Ryan Blackburn 59) before Baildon B were skittled for 57.

Former leaders Morley were shot out for 40 (Asghar Ali 5-20) by Halifax Direct B, who had earlier made 173-7 (Abdul Sattar 52) at Leeds Road, while Caribbean B declared their innings with two balls left on 174-9 at Station Road after Iftikhar Chaudry (51) retired injured, Drighlington B replying with 175-8.
