BRADFORD Bulls will take on Whitehaven at the Recreation Ground in the opening round of the Championship Shield.

The Bulls travel to Cumbria to face Whitehaven on Sunday 7th August as the next round of 2016 fixtures get underway.

Rohan Smith’s men return to the Provident Stadium and welcome Halifax in another West Yorkshire derby clash on Sunday August 14th.

The Bulls then face Oldham in successive home games as Scott Naylor’s team visit the Provident Stadium on the following Sunday.

On Bank Holiday Monday Smith’s men will travel to the Tetley’s Stadium to face Glenn Morrison’s Dewsbury Rams.

The Bulls claimed the two points at Dewsbury in the league earlier in the year in a 52-18 demolition, where Kris Welham scored five tries.

After the trip to Dewsbury, Bradford will face Swinton Lions at the Provident Stadium in Round Five of the Championship Shield, before heading back up to Cumbria to face Workington Town on Sunday 11th September at 3pm.

The final round of the Championship Shield, before the top four face each other in a knockout competition, is at home to Sheffield Eagles on Sunday 18th September.
