CROSSFLATTS have cashed in on Oakworth defeating leaders Bingley Congs in Mewies Solicitors Craven League Division One.

Flatts beat Sutton by three wickets at Royd Hill to narrow the gap to two points.

Sutton posted 147, with Rob Wilkinson making 49 as Jim O’Hara took 5-46 off his allotted 15 overs.

Then Dom Bennett top-scored with 30 as victory was achieved, Rob Walker (4-40) and James MacDonald (3-49) trying manfully to stem the tide.

Oakworth beat Congs by six wickets at Cure Hill, with the visitors recovering from 13-3 to reach 172-8, Mohammad Adil (44) and Neil Copping (31) doing well as Michael Scarborough (3-32) and Gareth Marshall (3-57) did most of the damage with the ball.

Marshall (35), Rob Hollingsworth (32no) and Adam Smith (30) then helping the home side over the line with six overs to spare to hand Congs their first defeat of the season.

Haworth are now five points behind Crossflatts after they slumped by 110 runs at Riddlesden.

The Grange Road side amassed 188, Mohammad Shahnawaz leading the way with 51, aided by Aftab Khan (46) as Phil Clayton claimed 4-23.

Jamie Rowell managed 31 of the Bronte side's 78 all out as Khan claimed 5-14.

Ingrow St John’s are fourth after beating Cowling by 67 runs at Street Lane.

Saints were indebted to Sarum Qureshi (58) and Immy Zaman (35) for helping them to 204 as Qamar Zaman, Shahid Hassan and Ajmal Choudrhy took three wickets each.

Only Mark Adams (28) offered much resistance as the visitors toiled to 137, with Habib Aslam (3-35) being the best bowler.

Denholme are sixth after defeating Haworth Road Meths by 93 runs at Bradford Road.

Neil Spencer (70), Toby Priestley (56) and Matt Wear (44) helped the hosts to an impressive 254-8, Meths then being restricted to 161 as Ryan Judson took 3-26, with opener Muhammad Zahid very much playing a lone hand with 90.

Embsay's one-wicket victory against Foulridge at Noyna was marred by an horrific accident to young fast bowler Josh Robinson.

While bowling, his foot caught in a foothole and he broke a tibia and fibula, as well as dislocating an ankle and severe damaging ankle ligaments.

The game was held up for 40 minutes while paramedics treated him at the ground before taking him to Airedale Hospital. He had an operation on Sunday to plate the bones and reset his ankle joint.

Haworth Road Meths II are the new leaders of Division Two after seeing off Glusburn by eight runs in a high-scoring game at Baildon Bottom.

Meths made 204-6, Shahid Mahmood scoring 59 and skipper and opener Paul Rodwell 56, but the Park Field visitors ran out of overs just short of the winning line, Ian Simons (61no) and Steve Brown (47) helping them to 196-8 as Ali Asguar took 4-34.

Former leaders Wilsden dropped to third behind Hepworth & Idle after losing by 89 runs at Thornton-in-Craven, who climbed out of the bottom two.

The West Craveners made 161-7 as Chris Mitchell took 5-57 but the Windy Grove side's highest score was only 13, which four batsmen achieved in their reply of 72.

Five players topped 30 as Hepworth & Idle racked up 292-9 at Chatburn, led by Gareth Goodaire (63no), who was backed by Michael Newell (41), David Goodaire (36), Tom Hawksworth (35) and Jonathan Thompson (33).

Chatburn only had ten men and one of them didn't bat as they were dismissed for 107 as Hawksworth took 4-20 and Thompson 3-36.

Barrowford piled up 294-7 at Ingrow, who were then castled for 106, with Mark Price making 40, while Oakworth II must have felt comfortable when they posted 243-5 at Bradley.

Jordan Powell, 17, smashed 107 off just 53 balls (seven fours, ten sixes) to go with skipper Drew Duffy’s 49.

However, they reckoned without two old heads who powered the Matthew Lane side to a staggering nine-wicket victory with five overs to spare.

Neil Andrews' 108 not out – the 26th league century of his career – and Chris Capstick (107no) put on an undefeated 217 for the second wicket.

Airedale entertained Ingrow St John’s II and won by one run.

The hosts made 213 on the back of Matt Gill (44) and Mathew Cox (36) as Abid Hussain took 5-25.

Arfan Mahmood (70), Abdul Dyan Qazi (38) and Talib Hussain (36) looked to have got the Saints over the line. However, their last man was run out with 4.3 overs to go.

Division Three leaders Long Lee came a cropper at Shires Lane, losing by 33 runs in a high-scoring game.

Embsay II made 237-8 at Shires Lane, with the ageless Bob Bateman (62), Dominic Kay (38), under-17 Tom Robinson (37) and Neil Robinson (34) being the main scorers as Jamie Robinson rolled back the years to finish with 5-39.

The Golden View side found themselves at 135-9 (Paul Stowell 36, Mark Day 33) before Jonathan Green (47) and Robinson (30no) put on 67 for the ninth wicket to make the home side nervous, Stephen Speak finishing with 4-40 and Simon Holt 4-59.

Cononley went top after they saw off Skipton CI at Sandylands by 73 runs.

Scott Brook (32) and Tom Feather (31) helped the visitors to 165-7, Paul Smith taking 4-55, before Herbie Starkey took 5-28 and Joel Grainger 3-5 as CI were back in the hut for 92.

Sandy Lane are third after beating Crossflatts II by 93 runs at Ryshworth Park, Shahbaz Ahmed (66 and 3-8) being their star.

Denholme II were in fine form at Bradford & Bingley III, winning by ten wickets.

Adrian Shires (5-15) helped the Wagon Laners back into the hut for 56 before Cameron Foster made 38 not out as the Bradford Road side romped home in just seven overs.

Jamie Teale (52 and 4-23) and Jimmy Dennison (44 and 3-34) played a big part in Bingley Congs II's 56-run victory over Eldwick & Gilstead at Beckfoot Lane.

For the visitors, James Keighley (55), Mark Roach (35) and Jordan Bayliss (4-44) were the main players.

Akeel Rashid (49) and John Pinkerton (46) helped Riddlesden II to 191-8 at Gargrave, who won by five wickets.

Joe Metcalfe took 3-7 in a single over for Gargrave, John Beckwith (86) then powering the Skipton Road side to victory.

Division 4A leaders Sandy Lane II saw off bottom side Oakworth III by six wickets at Greenwood Park.

The Cure Hill side made 140, with Niall Saynor scoring 69 as Raj Farooq took 7-25, before Zeesham Aslam (59) and Rana Abbas (44no) helped the hosts to victory.

Foulridge are second after they travelled to Bronteland and won by 108 runs, Neil Rollins (4-45) doing best for Haworth II, who perished for 80, while Barrowford are third after a solid win over Sutton at Bull Holme.

Simon Todd (76) and Stuart Tillotson (65) helped the visitors to 177 before the Lancastrians triumphed by six wickets.

Next-to-bottom Glusburn II can’t buy a win, despite rattling up 183-4, led by Iain Beattie (61) and Alan Coney (41).

Airedale II then galloped home by six wickets, thanks to Paul Feather (64no) and Asad Ejaz (54no).

Hepworth & Idle II matched their first team by scoring 296-8 at home to nine-man Chatburn II, with Jamie Topham (54), John McDermott (51) and Glen Pinkney (50) all making half-centuries, aided by Gary Orrell's 46 not out.

'Mr Extras' was top scorer for the Lancastrians as they were dismissed for 36, only wicket-keeper Steve Tandy (11) making double figures as Colin Whitehead took 4-8 and Martin McCully 3-22.

In Division 4B, leaders Skipton CI II had a superb win at Bingley Congs III, who posted a creditable 199-8, with Wayne Exley scoring 47 and Nathan Allatt 33.

The visitors stormed to a three-wicket win in only 28.1 overs as Congs used all eight of their bowlers, the best of which was Dan Marshall, who finished with 3-37.

Cowling II are second after seeing off Gargrave II at The Coliseum.

John Cleaver (65) and Tahir Mahmood (52) helped the home side to 216-6 but the visitors' top contributor was 'Mr Extras' with 30 as they crashed to 85 all out, with Sajid Shafait taking 4-6.

Long Lee II went down by five wickets at home to Ingrow II, Dale Hoyle (4-33 and 37) being the star for the winners.

There was a tie between Wilsden II and Bradley II at Windy Grove.

The Matthew Lane side made 159-8, with under-14 Elliott Wilson making 44 and over-50 John Drake 33 as Paul Kirby took 3-34.

Neil Jagger (44) and Alan King (35) led the reply of 159 as under-15 Frank Watkinson finished with 3-17.
