YORKSHIRE Carnegie loose-head prop Lee Imiolek is Wharfedale's specialist set-piece forwards' coach.

The 25-year-old, who will continue to play for the Leeds-based Greene King IPA Championship club, will take sessions with the Greens' pack on Thursday nights and, when his Headingley commitments permit, will assist forwards' coach Hedley Verity on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Manchester-born Imiolek, who is from Middlewich, made 26 appearances for Sale Sharks over three seasons in the Premiership, with his starting debut coming in the last game of the 2009-10 campaign against Harlequins, having previously come on off the bench.

Imiolek, already capped by England at under-16 and under-18 level, was in the same England under-20 World Championship squad in 2010 in Argentina as notables such as prop Joe Marler, hooker Jamie George, lock George Kruis, wingers Christian Wade and Jonny May and fly halves Freddie Burns and Rory Clegg, with England finishing fourth behind winners New Zealand, runners-up Australia and South Africa.

The former Sandbach School and Myerscough College pupil scored one try in the Premiership, and was loaned to the West Yorkshire club for the 2012-13 season before being signed permanently for the following campaign.

Imiolek helped Leeds reach the play-offs in both 2012-13 (lost semi-finals to Newcastle Falcons) and 2013-14 (lost semi-finals to London Welsh), when they also reached the British & Irish Cup final (lost to Leinster A).

The prop, who started his rugby career at Sandbach, sufficiently impressed during the 2014-15 campaign, when Yorkshire Carnegie were a disappointing sixth, to be chosen for the Championship XV to face Canada at Worcester.

The Leeds club made it a hat-trick of semi-final play-off defeats last season against Doncaster Knights, when Carnegie again reached the British & Irish Cup final, losing to Bristol.

In all, Imiolek has made 101 appearances for Yorkshire Carnegie, scoring eight tries.
