TONG Park Esholt have earned a place in the semi-finals of the Aire-Wharfe League's Waddilove Cup for the first time when the calculators showed that they had edged out Division One Rawdon on run rate.

With Ajanthe Weerapuli (29) and James Druce (57) getting them off to a solid start, Division Three Park were on 110-2 before Rawdon started to work their way through the batting, George Powell (3-32), Kuda Samunderu (3-26) and Andrew Duckworth (3-7) restricting the total to 150.

Will Murray removed both Rawdon openers with only 19 on the board, and though Samunderu steadied things with 26, they had still only managed to scrap together 57-3 in the 17 overs before rain ended play and Park went through.

They will now meet North Leeds, who bowled out Green Lane for 135 and had reached 65-2 when it rained, also going through on run rate.

Burley reached the semi-finals for the seventh time in eight years after knocking out Menston, also on run rate.

Josh Dracup, who ended up with 6-52, had Burley on the back foot early on, struggling on 37-4 but a swashbuckling 137 not out from Jason Wright, scored in 78 balls and with 19 fours and six sixes, took his side to 249-9 when they declared.

Menston could only scramble 17-4 before rain stopped play and they went out.

Burley now have a mouthwatering clash with Otley, who eliminated their great rivals Beckwithshaw on a bowl-out. The one innings that was played saw Otley reach 207-6, the highlight of which was a stand of 93 between James Davies (47) and David Hester (66).
