NOT even the weather could stop unbeaten Championship Division B leaders Townville as they stormed to a nine-wicket victory over Spen Victoria to record their tenth win in ten games in the All Rounder Cricket Bradford Premier League.

Nadim Hussain (4-24) and Jack Hughes (3-1) skittled out Spen Victoria for 78 before big-hitting Conor Harvey smashed 54 from just 24 balls (three sixes, eight fours) to speed his side towards victory.

Townville now have a 53-point advantage because second-placed Wrenthorpe were frustrated by the weather.

Overseas player Darryl Hendricks top-scored with 77 in Wrenthorpe's 176, and Altofts were 5-1 when play was brought to an early end.

Methley closed to within five points of Wrenthorpe as they defeated Bowling Old Lane by seven wickets.

Opener Hamid Khan, back after a hand injury, made an unbeaten 50 and Harry Anderson (45) as Methley chased down Bowling Old Lane's 130 in 24.5 overs.

Overseas paceman Samuel Mofokeng (4-48) and spinner Ed Walmsley (3-19) had been the key figures in restricting Old Lane to a chaseable total in which Bilal Ejaz made 41.

The match between Bankfoot and Hartshead Moor was abandoned at Highmoor Lane with the visitors on 189-2 after 44 overs.

Former Yorkshire player Neil Nicholson (60no) and Shoukat Ali (63no) shared an unbroken third-wicket stand of 108 before the rain struck.

The fixture between Brighouse and Hopton Mills suffered a similar fate.

Veteran Maz Bhatti (35) and Awaise Hussain (32) helped Brighouse to 140-6 before play was called off after 38 overs play.

George Senior made 53 and was supported by Graham Hilton (37) and Richard Wear (36) as Gomersal made 227-8 in 46.5 overs before their game with Carlton was washed out.
