REACHING the middle eights for the second successive year would represent another outstanding achievement for Halifax.

Richard Marshall's men head to Odsal tomorrow aiming for a win that would see them complete a league double over Bradford following their Easter Monday win at The Shay.

Moreover, it would see Halifax leapfrog the Bulls in the Championship table with just four rounds of the regular season then remaining.

Marshall's men, who beat Bradford twice last season – once in the league and once in the Qualifiers – are certainly in decent form.

They defeated Dewsbury 24-8 last weekend and now sit fourth in the table on points difference after Batley lost to the Bulls.

Marshall inherited a fine squad when he took the reins at the start of last season but he performed a highly impressive job and his men remain well placed to emulate their feats of 2015.

Halifax have no real ambitions to go full time and are content to continue making steady progress under Marshall's astute guidance.

Scott Murrell and Gareth Moore guide the team around the park and up front Marshall can call on formidable forwards such as Adam Tangata, Mitch Calahane and Luke Ambler.

Reflecting on the win over Dewsbury last week, Marshall said: "I thought we performed very well; a lot stronger.

"We were certainly better defensively and we managed the game better than Dewsbury did in the second half.

"We played tough up the middle. We can still get better there but our whack and our line speed was first class.

"Scott Murrell was strong and put in a couple of great tackles, while Adam Tangata was also strong.

"I just thought our attitude towards defence was better. We've seen it at times this year but we had it from the start and it grew as the game went on.

"We still made a handful, or two handfuls, of errors with the ball but our defence was good enough to be able to cope with that. Our management of the game was a lot better in the second half."
