Stuart McCall has promised 'less emotion and more action' after being officially unveiled as the new Bantams boss.
McCall admitted that his heart ruled his head during his first stint in charge between 2007 and 2010, which saw him unable to earn promotion from League Two.
But he takes the reins with City in a much healthier state following Phil Parkinson's stint at the club.
He said: "Last time I was here it wasn't a perfect fit...it certainly is now."
McCall, who confirmed that he would be relinquishing his position as Scotland assistant coach, added: "I have great affection for this club but this decision (to come back) is not being led by emotion this time...the structure is right now."
The new boss said he would not be wasting time in looking to strengthen his squad and would be interested in bringing loan signings to the club, as his predecessor Parkinson did. But he added he would not be rushed into making panic buys.
