JER Lane's stay off the summit of the Spenser Wilson Halifax League Premier Division proved a brief one.

After slipping outside the top two for the first time in three seasons, they went back on top after a four-run victory over visitors Blackley.

Jer were 60-4 but were revived by a fifth-wicket partnership of 73 between Imran Mirza (69no) and Michael Hustler (37), Mirza then adding 79 for the sixth wicket with Nasir Chowdrey (51) on their way to 216-6.

The latter then bowled 21 overs to take 2-72 to help restrict Blackley to 212-4, with Jer taking ten points to Blackley's four.

Jer were helped by Northowram Hedge Top, who won an even closer match to knock Triangle from the leadership, with Northowram opener Chris Conroy hitting 116 (11 fours, seven sixes) to set up their surprise victory.

Conroy dominated a first-wicket stand of 96 with Kier Litjens (18) before adding 48 with Adam Stocks (24) in their 244-5.

Opening bowler Tom Clee's figures of 10-4-23-0 were crucial as Triangle could only make 243-6 to lose by a run.

Ryan Brooksbank (53) and Greg Soames (67) were in the runs, adding 134 for the fourth wicket for Thornton, but their 243 all out was not enough as hosts Mytholmroyd had earlier made 276, Ross Parr taking 4-109 in an expensive 18 overs.

In Division One, Queensbury hung onto top spot, despite their reversal at Bridgeholme, who made 245, despite Gurdev Singh's 7-77 from 21 overs.

The latter then made 46 not out as Bury were dismissed for 166, but they still picked up five points.

Oxenhope, who are benefiting from the blossoming all-round talents of 16-year-old all-rounder Tom Mawer, are third after completing the double over Stones.

Liam Stones (7-49) and leg-spinner Mawer (3-65) helped to restrict Stones to 202, and teenager Mawer then batted through the reply in making 91 not out (14 fours, three sixes), Joe Ousey chipping in with a quickfire 48 not out as Oxenhope won by five wickets in the 41st over.

Even more comfortable winners in terms of overs were Great Horton Park Chapel, who passed Southowram's 213-6 in the 36th over to win by four wickets after important contributions from Richard Hassell (56), Waqar Ahmed Ilyas (46), Robert Gamble (35) and Chris Brown (29no), with Hassell and Gamble putting on an opening stand of 71.

Opener Mark Stokes (68) and Masood Zaman (28) added 115 for Low Moor's second wicket in their 181, which proved decisive in their 43-run victory over Old Crossleyans as Zaman took 5-19 and Martin Jenkins 3-18.

There was drama in Division Two, where front-runners Cullingworth defeated Bradshaw by one run.

Adie Powis (72) and Steve Welch (69), who both hit 12 fours and a six, were the dominant figures in Cullingworth's 210-3, adding 157 for the second wicket, and Phil Poole (3-53) and Dave Robinson (2-59) both did just enough with the ball in 16 overs each to hold Bradshaw to 209-8.

Denholme Clough are second, four points, behind after skittling out Upper Hopton for 78 in a seven-wicket victory, while Shelf are third after defeating basement boys Greetland by 106 runs after Babar Nawaz Malik had hit 85 and Jack Hartley 47, Neil Armitage taking 6-21 as Greetland were skittled for 104.

Clayton were even more merciless against second-from-bottom Old Town, rattling up 302-3 as Chris Ramsden made 120 (18 fours, five sixes) and openers Tim Shackleton 58 and Adnan Shafique 52.

Mitesh Mistry (4-39), Devvrat Patel (3-17) and Will Garside (2-20) then shot out Old Town for 94.
