APPERLEY Bridge have got their Bradford Mutual Sunday School League season up and running in convincing style.

Without a victory thus far, they made 212-7 off their 40 overs against Hallfield in Group A, Sher Khan (83) and Hassan Zeb (46) adding 105 for the third wicket.

Then Bridge's leading wicket-taker Zaka Ullah took 5-9 as Hallfield were castled for 40 in just 13.1 overs.

Girlington remain at top after beating Bradford Gymkhana by three wickets.

Gymkhana made 145-9, Shezad Khalid hitting 40, but Girlington knocked them off in only 22.3 overs, Mazar Naqvi scoring 66, despite Mohammed Bashrat taking 4-9.

Omars are second after defeating Salem Athletic by eight wickets, with the latter dismissed for 68 (Majid Hussain 7-33), while Bradford Moor remain third following a ten-run win over Great Horton Church in a low-scoring encounter.

Ishtiaq Raza took 5-13 as Moor were all out for 71 but Church could only reply with 61.

Meanwhile, Divyang Patel was among the wickets for VVS Laxman, bagging 5-27 as Interlink were bowled out for 98, Laxman winning by three wickets

Bradford Gymkhana have moved to the head of group B after defeating Girlington by 69 runs.

Gymkhana scored 148, with Shahid Saleem taking 6-32, but Habib Ur Rehman then bagged 4-14 as Girlington were sent back to the pavilion for 79.

Parkside have dropped to second after losing to Great Horton Church by 81 runs.

Church made 143, Hasan Ali scoring 44, before Parkside were dismissed for 62.

Salem are fourth after defeating Yorkshire LPS by three wickets.

LPS were sent packing for 53, with Zain ul Abideen taking 5-10 but, despite 5-9 from Ghazanfar Ali, Salem replied with 54-7.

Even better figures were recorded by Mohammed Umair, whose 8-13 was largely responsible for Bowling Baptists being bowled out for 43, Cambing winning by eight wickets, while Cross Roads & Daisy Hill got home by two wickets against Allerton, who were bowled out for 74 (Bilal Mughal 4-6) in 31 overs, Daisy replying with 76-8.

In Group C, Hallfield are now joint top with Greenfield after losing to them by one wicket.

Hallfield scored 131, with Sajid Mehmood taking 6-25, and Greenfield won it with a six on 137-9, despite Sohail Butt taking 5-27.

Cambing, boosted by Mohammed Sohail's 54 not out and 45 from Uzair Salman, are up to third after making 194-6 against Bowling Baptists, who were back in tent for 69 in only 20.4 overs.

Meanwhile, Yorkshire Friends are fourth after beating Great Horton Meths by six wickets.

Meths could only make 115 in 37 overs, with Farhan Ali taking 5-34, Friends scoring 118-5 in 26.5 overs after tea, with Ajmal Farooq Rauf scoring 40 as Ben Taylor took 4-25.

Tightest finish of the day was West Bowling's two-run victory over Mandhata, who were a man short, which probably proved crucial.

West Bowling were all out for 132 in 38.5 overs, with Dominic Carter scoring 57 and Pritesh Patel taking 4-36, Mandhata making 130 in 28.3 overs, with Guruwinder Singh hitting 49.

Zahir Hussain was Mayfield's hero with 57 not out as they defeated Yorkshire LPS by six wickets. LPS had earlier been dismissed for 102 (Viral Patel 41).

In Group D, Allerton prevented Mayfield from winning six out of six with a winning draw.

Allerton scored 206-8, with Sohail Shah and Asad Ali both scoring 51, but Mayfield could only score 101-6.

Muff Field A beat Buttershaw St Paul's by 52 runs, despite only scoring 87-8, and are second, while Bradford Indians are up to third after defeating Greenfield.

Imran Khan took 5-10 for Greenfield, but Indians still made 130 in 32.2 overs, Vikramjeet Singh hitting 52, but Greenfield could only make 63, with Shiv Krishan bagging 5-18.

Another tight finish in the West Bowling v Mandhata mode was the game between Muff Field B and TABS.

Karl Burkinshaw (64) proved the rock for Muff Field B in their 122 (Qasim Ali 6-11), but Islam Khokhar then took 5-40 as TABS were dismissed for 117.
