LOW Moor are off the mark in the Spencer Wilson Halifax League.

They are still bottom of the First Division but secured 12 of the 17 points they have secured so far by notching a first victory of the season over next-to-bottom visitors Stones.

David Mobbs was the only batsman to really trouble Low Moor, making an unbeaten 59 at No 3 in Stones' 108 as Rob Dowling took 5-33.

Dowling then made 28 not out as Low Moor won by six wickets, Adam Forbes (32) and Mark Stokes (28) also chipping in after both openers had gone cheaply.

Baber Yaqoob (6-65) and Matthew Jordan (4-41) shared the wickets as Great Horton Park Chapel defeated Oxenhope by 40 runs.

Opener Robert Gamble top-scored for Park Chapel in their 173-9, Chris Brown (38) and Paul Ravenscroft (22no) weighing in down the order as Scott Mallinson bagged 3-53.

Only brothers Tom (50) and Spencer (25no) Mawer then distinguished themselves for Oxenhope in their 133.

Gurdev Singh's 81 not out at No 8 was also in vain for Queensbury, who were dismissed for 177 at Southowram, Singh adding 85 for the seventh wicket with Phil Sharples (21).

Southowram had earlier made 202-7, Tom Belfield scoring 67 not out and Dean Crossley 55 before hitting his wicket.

In the Premier Division, Jer Lane are still top by three points – despite losing their first game of the season.

Nasir Choudhry bowled 20 overs for Jer, taking 6-67 in SBCI's 167, but – Simon Collins (31no) and Johnny Lister (23) apart – the Bradford club's batsmen struggled as they were castled for 89, Jamie Sykes taking 7-37 off 12.3 overs.

Struggling Thornton lost by four wickets to Sowerby Bridge after making 131-9.

In Division Two, Clayton made 188-8 off their allotted 35 overs against Upper Hopton, Adnan Shafique dominating proceedings with 83 backed up by Joe Brown (40) and fellow opener Tim Shackleton (21).

Upper Hopton were 121-3 off 25.4 overs when rain ruined an interesting contest.
