ADAM O'Brien admits the Bulls need to improve drastically on their defending as they head into next week's visit of Swinton.

Bradford have conceded an average of over 22 points per game this season and shipped six tries during Sunday's 30-16 loss at London.

Three of those scores were from Broncos players forcing their way over from dummy half as Andy Ackers grabbed a second-half brace and fellow hooker James Cunningham also scooted over late on.

It was a bitterly frustrating afternoon for the Bulls and O'Brien accepts his team must tighten up defensively if they are to pose a serious challenge for promotion.

"London scored a few easy tries with scoot-overs from their hookers and that wasn't good enough from our point of view," said the homegrown hooker.

"It was particularly frustrating because no number nine should be able to go through three players to score a try from a ruck.

"To have that happen three times in one game is not good enough and it frustrates me because they are the kind of opportunities I look for.

"Not many teams are allowing me to do it as a hooker and nor should we. As a team, we need to tighten up in that area and crack on now for Swinton at home.

"We need to stop giving cheap penalties and field position to the opposition when they don't deserve it.

"We are making errors and it's frustrating us as players because that's what gave London the game on Sunday."

The Bulls were given two days off after Sunday's defeat but return to training today.

O'Brien said: "After putting 50 points on Workington and Dewsbury, we went to London with a bit of confidence.

"In the first half on Sunday, we looked good and were backing ourselves. In the second half, we let ourselves down.

"But we've got Swinton at home on Sunday week and it's a chance to get back on the horse and strengthen our position in the top four."
