THE Championship B's most dramatic match in the All Rounder Cricket Bradford Premier League was played at Wickets Close and saw Bankfoot defeat Wrenthorpe by one wicket after 19 wickets fell for just 161 runs.

Wrenthorpe, who had made 318-5 in their previous match against Brighouse, were dismissed for just 80 as Nigel Hanson (6-27) exploited the bowler-friendly conditions.

Wrenthorpe's total would have been even smaller if it had not been for the efforts of last man Edward Marshall (25no).

Bankfoot also found batting to be a tricky business as they plunged into trouble against Jonathan Rudge (5-42) and Jordan Sleightholme (3-16), but veteran Greg Colehan edged his side home with an unbeaten 14.

Townville are top of the table after beating Carlton by 59 runs.

Overseas player Matthew Bremner led the way with 78 Townville made 185-8 before declaring to give their opponents the opportunity to bat for the same number of overs.

Farrukh Alam (4-55) and Ismail Patel (3-40) were the pick of the Carlton bowlers while Tim Walton (32) and Jonathan Booth (30) made useful contributions to the Townville total.

Carlton were restricted to 126-9 with Tom Taylor (27) their top scorer as Nadim Hussain took 3-29.

Townville have a three-point lead over Bowling Old Lane who defeated Hartshead Moor by seven wickets.

Adal Islam took 5-30 and Sadaqat Zaman (4-41) as Old Lane dismissed their opponents for just 78. Farakh Hussain hit a breezy 38 as they eased to their target.

Methley are a point further back in third place after a comfortable nine-wicket win over Hopton Mills.

A superb opening partnership of 149 between Hamid Khan (64) and Marcus Walmsley (63no) saw them overhaul Hopton Mills' total of 167 with ease.

Hopton Mills lost their way after a promising start. Openers Ashley Mackareth (51) and Laureen Steenkamp (32) put on 80, but once they were parted the innings started to unravel as The Walmsley twins got to work. Edward took 3-11 and Marcus (3-31).

Spen Victoria's new overseas player, New Zealander Nic Montgomery, shone as they defeated Brighouse by six wickets to record their first win.

The Kiwi polished off the Brighouse innings with 6-20 and followed up by making 64 as Spen eased past their rivals' score of 149. The top scorers for Brighouse were Aleem Ladak (38) and Mustafa Bhatti (34).

Joel Pollard (4-37) and James Russell (3-22) bowled Gomersal to a comfortable 87-run success against Altofts.

Their efforts were key as Altofts, despite a bright 70 from Myles Robinson, were dismissed for 136 in reply to Gomersal's

223-6.

Adam Greenwood (50), Arsaam Malik (40) and Jack Seddon (35) provided the bulk of Gomersal's runs. Matthew Holstein was again the pick of the Altofts bowlers with 3-47.
