Bookies tip City to bounce back
City are second favourites to win League Two - before Stuart McCall has even made a single signing.
Ladbrokes price them at 10/1 along with fellow relegated side Chesterfield, while money-bags Peterborough are clear 7/2 title front-runners.
Spokesman Robin Hutchison said: "There is a real buzz about Bradford's chances, especially since it was announced Stuart McCall was coming in.
"He's got the makings of a decent manager, has had a good schooling at Sheffield United and obviously had an illustrious playing career with clubs like Rangers and Everton.
"We've seen a number of our shops in Bradford itself see some business already and that is always a good sign too."
Hutchison added: "They are well-supported locally and we've seen the special deal the club are running for their season tickets as well.
"There's high optimism around the city for them, while traditionally relegated teams, having played at a higher standard the year before and especially if they can hold on to their players, tend to start off as the favourites anyway."
Accrington Stanley have been installed as rank 50/1 outsiders to lift the crown, with Chester and Bury (40/1) similarly long odds.
City, meanwhile, will be looking to step up their recruitment drive this week as new chief McCall gets to work at reassembling the squad.
The club currently only have 13 players with first-team experience on their books but a flurry of activity is expected shortly - just like at the bookies.
