IT MAY be early in the season but two players have already put their hands up for individual awards in the Quaid-e-Azam League.

Sikander Mahmood made 133 for Azad in their comfortable Section A Group Two win over newcomers Yorkshire Lions.

Meanwhile, 15-year-old debutant Ismail Nazir took 7-11 for Bradford Moor in their equally easy Group One triumph over Friends, who were dismissed for 79 chasing 217.

Newly-promoted clubs had mixed results in the Premier Section.

TABS had a roller-coaster game with defending champions Keighley RZM, reaching 105-1 chasing 241 before being skittled for 155.

New signing Tariq Mehmood struck 56 for Keighley, Omar Khitab weighing in with an unbeaten 57.

Ahmed Ali took 5-34 – including a hat-trick – for Rising Stars as Whiterose were dismissed for 87, before Stars also found it a difficult wicket to bat on in replying with 88-8.

Onq, Heaton Park and Bhalot Strikers all had comfortable wins, Kamran Hussain making 91 for the Strikers against Kashmir Dewsbury while Mohammed Jamal hit 81 for Onq against Rajas.

In Section A Group One, Bradford Royals won the city derby by 30 runs against Karmand, while in Group Two, new signing Will Herrington made 56 for Earlmarshall in their 128-run victory over Al-Minarah.
