BRADFORD CITY try again tomorrow to complete their FA Women's Cup third round tie with Yeovil.

Weather conditions were bad enough to force the postponement of Yeovil Town's League Two clash against Plymouth last week and the women's game quickly followed suit.

With FA and County FA Cups taking precedence over league fixtures, City are now into their third month without a game in the FA Women's Premier League and a complicated end of season run-in is already looking inevitable.

At least coach Steve Winterburn was able to give some of his side some much-needed game time in a reserve team game against Hull City last week.

In a match played at the Leeds Road Sports Complex, City had a comfortable 9-0 win to move into third place and within three points of Newcastle United.

However, that situation could change this week as City's reserves head off in the opposite direction from the first team to take on Newcastle, at Morpeth Town. A four-goal winning margin would lift them into second place.

Although they did have a strengthened side, City overwhelmed visitors Hull in their last game. Danielle Whitham gave them an early lead before Hannah Campbell, Ellie Olds (2) and an own goal saw City lead 5-0 at the break. Second-half goals from Shauna Legge, Laura Midgeley, Joley Ruse and a second penalty from Olds, to complete her hat trick, wrapped it up.

If the FA Cup tie is played this week then a County FA Women's Cup quarter-final game at Farsley Celtic will be played the following week, with the winners drawn to play Guiseley at the County FA ground on March 9. Leeds will play Brighouse Town in the other semi-final on March 2.

In the meantime, Guiseley are facing a second successive blank week as postponed cup games across the region are affecting the league programme.

Bradford Park Avenue's League Shield game against First Division Hebden Royd at Luddendenfoot, postponed from last week, offers some prospect of relief from their West Riding League Premier Division relegation battle as Hebden are struggling to put out a full-strength side.

Of the games that were played last week, there was a huge upset at Ossett Town where the Premier Division side were hammered 9-1 by visiting First Division outfit Battyeford Belles.

This week's West Riding games include Brighouse Town Development v Tingley Ath in the League Cup, Hemsworth v Farsley Celtic reserves and Middleton v Ilkley Town in the League Shield. There is also a key promotion battle in Division One as Battyeford Belles (second) take on Silsden (third).
