FILIPE Morais has stepped up his injury comeback with an appearance at City training today.

The winger has been sidelined since he suffered a serious knee injury in pre-season.

But Morais was able to take part in the warm-up with the squad this morning at the West Riding County FA headquarters in Woodlesford.

Assistant manager Steve Parkin said: “Fil’s really worked hard to get back to the level of fitness that he’s at now. His motivation to get back is there for us all to see.

“He joined in the warm-up and did a good bit of work with Nick (Allamby) while we did our session.

“He’s buzzing and looking good. Hopefully it will not be too long in the future before we see him back in a Bradford shirt and playing in the first team.”

City will tread carefully with his recovery although Parkin predicted Morais should make good progress from now on.

“Fil looks as fit and strong as ever,” he said. It won’t take him too long to get back into it, two or three weeks training, and then he won’t be far away.

“But we’ve got to be sensible. We’re in the hands of the surgeon who operated on him.

“If he gives us the green light and considers Fil good to go, then there’s no reason why we can’t push him forward to do that.

“But if he’s cautious and it’s not, we’ll take his word and do as we’re told.”
