BRADFORD Park Avenue will make a second trip to Buxton to play their FA Trophy third qualifying round tie tonight – if the Bucks’ Silverlands passes a noon pitch inspection.

Saturday’s original clash was abandoned at half-time with the teams all square at 0-0 after a weather affected 45 minutes. The tie was hastily rearranged for tonight at the request of the FA.

It will be played to a conclusion and will be free to all – not just to supporters who were at Silverlands on Saturday.

Following yesterday’s lunch-time draw for the first round, the clubs now know that the winner will have a home tie against Lincoln City. The Imps are flying high and are fourth in the National League.

Guiseley and FC Halifax Town also join the competition at this stage. The Lions have to wait to find out who they will play as other ties are incomplete. Mark Bower’s men are on the road but there are three possible opponents.

Kidsgrove Athletic host Marine tonight in a second qualifying round replay and the winners of that will host Burscough, with the eventual winner at home to Guiseley. The Shaymen’s tie is straightforward as they will host Tamworth.

Avenue are scheduled to host Halifax tomorrow evening after the venue for their West Riding County Cup quarter-final was switched to Horsfall Stadium

That tie will be postponed if Avenue play at Buxton tonight but will go ahead if the FA Trophy tie is a casualty of the weather.

It should be a busy night elsewhere, weather permitting, with Farsley Celtic due to host Jamie Vardy’s old club Stocksbridge Park Steels in the Integro Doodson Evo-Stik League Cup third round.

In the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Cup third round, Thackley host Eccleshill United in a derby tie, while Albion Sports travel to Teversal.
