GUISELEY go to Preston North End tomorrow for an FA Womens Premier League (North) game but they, doubtless, wish they could be playing in the County Cup every week.

Having beaten Dewsbury Rangers 23-0 in the first round they went to County League basement club Boroughbridge for their rearranged second round game last week and promptly ran in 27 without reply.

Two goals in the first two minutes set the tone of this encounter while first half hat-tricks from Kerrie Zserdicky-Shirt, Tanya Rich, Bethan Smith and Lauren Griffiths helped Guiseley to a 20-0 half time lead.

The scoring eased after the break, in the wake of several changes by Guiseley, but at the final whistle the score was 27-0 with Tanya Rich and Bethan Smith scoring five apiece, Lauren Griffiths 4, Nadine Bates 3, Kerrie Zserdicky-Shirt 3, Katie Welham 2, Charie Blythe, Aimi Beresford, Emily Scott, Stacey Edmonds, and an own goal, accounting for the final tally.

Holders Bradford City faced the frustration of yet another postponement of their tie at Wetherby Athletic so, under County Cup rules, they try again tomorrow - with the weather forecast offering little encouragement.

There was still plenty to encourage head coach Steve Winterburn however for he made the trip to London with the reserves and saw them clinch a Reserve Division Cup semi-final place with a 1-0 win over Charlton Athletic. The deciding goal came from City's Player of the Match Charlotte Stuart.

Tomorrow the reserves have a rare league outing, only their fifth of the season, when they travel to Knaresborough Town FC to take on a Leeds LFC reserve side level on points with City in third place.

In the County Cup Silsden try again to complete their tie with FA Premier League Division one side Leeds FC but Bradford Park Avenue failed in their bid to make the last eight when their home tie with Brayton Belles, switched to Selby College due to Council pitch closures, ended in a penalty shoot out defeat.

Laura Wolfenden and Katie Dormer had given Avenue a half-time lead but Brayton had made it 2-2 by full-time and the disappointing shoot out followed.

It is back to County League Premier Division action for Avenue tomorrow, when they are scheduled to visit Hemsworth, while in Division One leaders City A, without a game last week, go to still pointless Oulton Athletic.
