ECCLESHILL United will go into tomorrow’s game at Hall Road Rangers in Toolstation Northern Counties East League Division One under the sole guidance of Sean Regan after midweek developments.

The Eagles parted company with manager Mark Greaves and his No 2 Hayden Lobley late on Wednesday.

Eccleshill’s chairman Adrian Benson cited ‘differences that couldn’t be reconciled’ when he confirmed that head of coaching Regan, the former Liversedge manager and Thackley coach, would be taking over as the new manager on a permanent basis.

More on that in tomorrow’s T&A non-league page.

Regan will be expected to get off to a winning start as he takes over a side in good form.

The Eagles have lost just one of their last five games and banked 10 points from a possible 15 in that period, while their hosts have won only one home league game all season.

In the top tier, Albion Sports face a tough trip to Bridlington Town, knowing that after missing out on claiming third spot in midweek they could be overhauled by their hosts tomorrow.

Kulwinder Sandhu’s men lost 2-1 at struggling Maltby Main on Wednesday, and Brid, who have four games in hand on them, are just one point adrift of their visitors and have won their last three.

Liversedge are the only one of the four local clubs in the NCE set up to be at home this weekend but they will be hard pressed to make it count. Sedge are 19th but visitors Cleethorpes Town are fifth.

Cleethorpes are unbeaten in their last three games, winning two and drawing one, and could go third with another victory.

Thackley travel to basement outfit Brigg Town, who are five points off safety.

The Dennyboys are still in the bottom half of the table but have won four of their last five, their only defeat being at leaders Tadcaster Albion.
