BRADFORD City and Guiseley Vixens open their FA Women's Premier League Cup campaign tomorrow with ties at Newcastle United and at home to Liverpool Marshalls Feds respectively.

Two successive wins to start their season marks Newcastle as the team to beat in the Northern Division although Steve Winterburn's hurriedly re-shaped formation, after their opening day defeat, reaped rewards for City with a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest, last week.

Hannah Campbell struck twice for City, her first goals for the club, and Sarah Danby curled in a superb left-foot shot from the edge of the area to complete the scoring and put the City girls in good heart for tomorrow's long trip north.

Guiseley Vixens won promotion from Division One (North) last season at the expense of Liverpool Feds and while the visitors to Nethermoor are sure to be out for revenge, the Vixens go into the game a little 'shell shocked' after crashing 7-0 at Huddersfield Town last week.

A 2-1 opening day defeat at Derby County gave new coach Amanda Maslin-Barr some encouragement but she has a huge task to pick up the pieces after the Huddersfield game.

"We were left in no doubt as to the higher quality of this league," said club boss John Shirt. "The game was effectively settled in the first 15 minutes!"

Kate Mallin, Shauna Jein and Emily Heckler all scored in that opening quarter and Guiseley never recovered. Sammy Conroy added a fourth before half time and three more from Emily Heckler in the closing minutes completed the victory for Huddersfield Town.

Town are also in cup action when they are at home to another Division 1 side, Blackpool Wren Rovers, while Leeds, 3-0 winners at Liverpool Feds to make it two wins out of two in Division1, go to Middlesbrough.

The Reserve Division season kicks off next week with City at home to Guiseley Vixens reserves.
