GUISELEY head to Barrow tonight for a National League clash as the two promoted sides go head to head for the first time since last season’s meetings in the Conference North.

The Lions lost at the Bluebirds' Furness Building Society Stadium back in November of last year and were beaten 3-2 in the reverse fixture 11 days later. Lions boss Mark Bower is anticipating another tough contest.

He said: “I’ve been up there three times with Guiseley and we’ve lost 1-0 every time so it’s not been a happy hunting ground.

“It will be another difficult game as Barrow have gone full-time now and brought some very good players in over the summer. We will go there looking for three points though, and I think we have an opportunity to get the win.

“We have got two wins from our first three games and I think we should have had three and been even higher up the table. It's important we keep the momentum going and we have to compete with the clubs who, like us, are expected to finish in the bottom half of the table.”

While Bower’s men have won two of their three games, Barrow have taken just one maximum but will be seeking home comforts tonight. They won their only home game so far, beating Dover, before losing 4-1 at Grimsby Town and then 4-0 at leaders Forest Green Rovers last Saturday.

Elsewhere on a busy night FARSLEY CELTIC are in search of their first point of the season in the Evo-Stik Division One North as they journey to Scarborough Athletic.

In the Toolstation Northern Counties East Premier Division, THACKLEY host Bridlington Town and LIVERSEDGE travel to Handsworth Parramore while in Division One ECCLESHILL UNITED journey to Hemsworth MW.

Last night’s action saw Farsley’s neighbouring rivalS BRIGHOUSE TOWN lose 2-1 at home to Ossett Town.
