TOMORROW is the final Saturday of preparation for many of the area’s non-league sides ahead of the start of the new season.

Bradford Park Avenue will be severely tested when they journey to Barnsley to play ambitious Shaw Lane Aquaforce.

There are three former Avenue players Danny Frost, Alex Davidson and Luke O’Brien in the Shaw Lane squad along with Gibraltar striker Adam Priestley who was recruited from Farsley in the close season.

Bradford boss Martin Drury is looking forward to the challenge after their midweek game at Ossett Albion was postponed.

He will be using the match and Monday's home game against Derby County’s under-21s to hone his tactics for the opening game of the Vanarama National North season next Saturday.

The Evo-Stik League does not kick-off until August 15 but Division One North rivals Farsley Celtic and Brighouse Town both have keen friendlies tomorrow.

The Celts host tenants Albion Sports while Town entertain Evo-Stik Premier Division outfit Ashton United.

Paul Quinn has mixed and matched his starting line-ups in the first five friendlies but is likely to concentrate on his mainstay players in this final warm-up.

Liversedge host Worsbrough Bridge Athletic but Thackley and Eccleshill United are both on the road.

The Dennyboys travel to Nelson, while the Eagles head to Harworth Colliery Institute.
