BRADFORD & Bingley have agreed a twinning agreement with the Danish Rugby Union.

The deal, which mostly involves coaches and juniors, will be in place before the start of the 2015-16 season.

The Bees' head of rugby operations Martin Whitcombe explained: "I was friends with Klaus Veile when I was playing rugby in Durban and he has gone on to be a major administrator in Denmark."

There is now the possibility of exchange visits between the Bees and the Danish RFU, with Whitcombe, who has been in talks with Danish RFU technical director Mikael Lai Rasmussen for several weeks, adding: "Initially the arrangement is about coaches and juniors and swapping general coaching information, but there is an opportunity to play against the Danish under-18 side in Copenhagen.

"However, if they have a player who wants to come and play for us, that is fine, while there may the opportunity for one of our players to go over there."

Whitcombe and Chris Hemsley (fixture secretary) will be working on the fine detail of this agreement over the next few weeks, but the hope is that Danish coaches will travel over to the Bees this season, with the Bees' coaching team reciprocating.

The former also hopes that this agreement will re-ignite Bradford & Bingley's enthusiasm for touring and wants to look into the possibility of the Bees' junior sides visiting Denmark at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Bradford & Bingley have confirmed that money raised from their summer ball this year will go to the Manorlands Hospice at Oxenhope.

Manorlands fund-raiser Harriet Bevan said: "This year we need to raise £1.6 million in donations and voluntary income for us to continue to provide incredible care at Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice and the surrounding local area.

"We rely heavily on the support of local communities to help us meet these targets and I'd like to thank Bradford & Bingley Rugby Club for choosing to support the hospice by hosting these fantastic fund-raising events."

The Bees have also confirmed Protein Dynamix as their sports nutrition partner and that admission to first-team home games next season has been reduced to £3 (from £6 for non-members and £5 for members), with additional benefits on offer through the season for patrons (£120 per season) and patrons plus (£150).
