RYAN Sidebottom and Jack Brooks starred during a quite brilliant afternoon of bowling as Warwickshire lost eight wickets to slip from 18-2 to 69 all out on day two at Edgbaston.

The Bears lost five for nought in 30 balls with the score on 35, slipping from 35-3 to 35-8.

Sidebottom took the first six wickets of the innings, including four this afternoon, on the way to 6-34 from 12 overs and Brooks 3-14 from eleven. Steve Patterson took the other wicket.

Sidebottom bowled Ian Westwood offering no shot before bowling Laurie Evans and getting Sam Hain caught at third slip. He then trapped wicketkeeper Pete McKay lbw.

Brooks had Jonathan Trott caught superbly at third slip by a diving Jack Leaning, his second catch, Jeetan Patel caught behind and Boyd Rankin caught at first slip.

Patterson wrapped up the innings by bowling Rikki Clarke for 28, with the ex-Surrey all-rounder helping the hosts to narrowly avoid the follow-on.

Yorkshire are 15-0 from seven second-innings overs at tea, and they lead by 159 with 39 overs remaining on day two.
