BRADFORD Clayton Thunderbids has recently seen five members of their squad representing the England Women’s Rugby League team on their tour of France.

Jessica Courtman and Charlotte Booth were both selected for their England debuts alongside international regulars Dani Bose, Lois Forsell and Amy Hardcastle.

England won the series, taking the first test 24-4, in which Booth and Courtman marked their debuts with a try and conversion respectively, before Hardcastle scored a dramatic last-minute try to draw the second test 14 points apiece.

This was Courtman’s first senior squad call-up, however she had previously toured France two years previous as a member of the students’ squad.

Speaking of her call-up, Courtman said: “I was overwhelmed when I was picked as part of the National Development Squad, so when I received a phone call from head coach Chris Chapman, informing me I had been chosen in the squad to tour France, I was lost for words.

“To be given such an amazing opportunity means the world to me and it is truly an honour and a privilege to represent my country alongside such a talented group of players. I know it's not going to be easy but I felt fit and ready to go out there and prove that I was worthy to receive my first international cap!”
