JIMMY Lowes is expecting a stern test from Featherstone tonight but has warned Andy Hay’s men: “We’re ready for you.”
The Bulls are aiming for an improved performance after stuttering displays over Dewsbury, Workington and Batley in their last three matches.
Free-scoring Featherstone have won their last three outings and averaged almost 50 points a game during that winning sequence.
The Bulls battered Rovers 40-4 on March 1 but Lowes said: “That was a long time ago and they have been on a good run themselves of late.
“They have progressed really nicely so it will be a challenge for us and a challenge for them too, so let’s not forget that.”
Rovers have a useful blend of youth and experience, with seasoned former Super League stars such as Paul Cooke and Paul Sykes complemented by young prospects such as Jordan Baldwinson, who spent time on loan at Odsal last season.
But Lowes added: “I’m very confident that the boys can step it up from here for the rest of the season and, first and foremost, against Featherstone tonight.”
