JIMMY Lowes felt the Bulls had put together their “best 80-minute performance of the season” as they battered Sheffield 46-12.

The head coach got the response he was looking for after shipping seven tries against Doncaster as Bradford scored four tries in both halves.

Lowes said: “It was probably the best 80 minutes this season.

“I think we’ve had better halves but overall, apart from a couple of patches, one in the first half and one in the second half where we got a little bit loose, this was right up there from us.

“Overall I thought we were pretty good today.”

Dale Ferguson scored twice and Tom Olbison, Etu Uaisele, Danny Williams, Adam Sidlow, Adam Henry and Adrian Purtell also touched down.

Lowes added: “I thought our edges were really good, Olbison and Ferguson, plus Jay Pitts is just a fantastic player to have in your side.

“I also thought Danny Addy is getting comfortable in the half-back role but you could go through the whole side from one to 17 and say ‘I thought we were far better than them today’.”

Lowes also paid tribute to head groundsman Leigh Beattie and his team for ensuring the match went ahead.

“The conditions during the game were better than they were during the morning,” said Lowes.

“The pitch was flooded this morning and Leigh Beattie and his staff did a fantastic effort to get the game on.

“They had mops and buckets on and a pump, and the pitch held out in the end.”

The only negative was the loss of Jake Mullaney during the first half after he aggravated the hamstring injury which had kept him out of the previous five games.

Lowes added: “Jake felt his hamstring go again, so the best thing was to get him off again. Hopefully it’s not too bad.”
