SCUNTHORPE boss Mark Robins will take little satisfaction from rubber-stamping their League One safety tonight.

A victory over the Bantams would guarantee survival if strugglers Leyton Orient and Notts County both fail to win.

But Robins feels that the Iron should not still be in that position – and blames a lack of focus.

The former Huddersfield chief said: “It should have been put to bed a long time ago. If we keep having to come back into games, we will eventually come unstuck.

“We want to get to the end of the season with our league status intact and then start to put things right.”

Hakeeb Adelakun rescued a point with a last-gasp equaliser at second-bottom Colchester on Saturday. But Robins saw it as another game thrown away after conceding twice in four minutes.

“They have got to grow up and take responsibility because the way we conceded on Saturday was totally unacceptable.

“It was a good point in the sense that we were a goal down with 30 seconds to go but it should have been put to bed. Our concentration levels haven’t been good enough.

“The players can be good enough but they have to remain focused and do their jobs that they know inside out.”

City’s visit is the first of two home games this week for the Iron and Robins insists they must take advantage.

“We will look forward to putting on a decent performance for our supporters.

“We will be playing a good side in Bradford. We know what their qualities are and know they are decent.

“All the games are winnable and if you go into any match thinking you’re not going to win, you may as well not turn up. But we have got to be better than we were on Saturday.”

Former City player of the year Dave Syers recently returned from seven months out with a knee injury he suffered just five minutes into the season. The midfielder made two appearances from the bench over Easter but was not involved at Colchester.
