ADAM Sidlow helped the Bulls restrict London to just two points last weekend but he warned: “We need to be far better against Hull KR.”

Andrew Henderson’s men pushed hard for a try during the first half of the Bulls’ 28-2 success.

The scrambling defence of Jimmy Lowes’ side kept the Broncos at bay as they were held up over the line three times.

But Sidlow insists the Bulls still allowed too many gaps to appear as they registered a ninth straight victory.

The former Salford prop said: “We’re happy with the wins but we’re not playing particularly well and we haven’t strung two decent halves together.

“We didn’t let any tries in against London but I think that’s testament to our goal-line defence because we’re just missing too many tackles.

“It’s not good enough and Hull KR will sting us if we do that on Sunday, so we’re going to have to make sure it’s better than it was against London.

“All credit to the Broncos, they threw everything at us and we defended well on our line.

“But if we play like that this weekend then Hull KR are definitely going to get a roll-on and we can’t afford that.

“We know what we’ve got to bring to the table and we’ve got to be better than that in defence.”

Sidlow is an avid viewer of Super League action on television and is expecting a stern test from new-look Rovers on Sunday.

“I’m always watching Sky Sports and I like to keep an eye on who we might come up against,” he said.

“I’ve been impressed with Hull KR this season.

“They’re a new side and it possibly helped them having so many new faces during the off-season because they were all in the same boat.

“They’ve brought a lot of lads in and probably bonded and got to know each other well really quickly.

“That’s what James Donaldson said and they’re certainly doing well, so we will see what they bring against us on Sunday.

“Donno came to our recent Workington league game and I was injured, so we had a good chat together and we stay in touch.

“We’re looking forward to this weekend and it will allow us to see where we are at.

“Hopefully we can rise to the challenge and beat them.

“Albert Kelly and Kieran Dixon like to run but I think Terry Campese marshalls them around the pitch and kicks the opposition to death.

“I don’t think he liked it against Castleford when they got stuck into him and put him off his game last weekend, though. I think that’s what we’ll look to do.”

Sidlow and Paul Clough are firmly established as the Bulls’ first-choice starting props, with Samir Tahraoui, Epalahame Lauaki, Dan Fleming and the fit-again Karl Davies all vying for a bench spot.

Sidlow, who has skippered the side in some games this season, said: “Jimmy likes to play Paul and I for long minutes because he knows he can get that out of us both.

“He then brings the likes of Samir, Hame and Dan on so hopefully we get some impact from them and then me and Cloughy can get back on to do some more damage.”
