GLASGOW'S curry king Charan Gill has launched an expanding a service for Asian families with disabled children.
The Apna project, run by Barnardo's Scotland, is a lifeline service aimed at supporting parents.
As reported in last night's Evening Times, the charity is building on the success of Apna South, based in Pollokshields with a new service centred in Maryhill.
Mr Gill said: "Services such as Apna provide a vital lifeline to these families and can sometimes even help keep them together."
Martin Crewe, director of Barnardo's Scotland, said: "We would very much like to get the message across to Asian families in these circumstances that we are here for them."
There are currently over 550 Asian children and young people with a limiting long-term illness living in Glasgow.
