THE LIST OF VACANCIES IS FILED IN THE LIBRARY AND HAS NOT BEEN PUT
INTO THE DATABASE.
THIS is our second list of vacancies in degree and HND courses in
Scotland for entry this autumn. In co-operation with Strathclyde
Regional Council's Continuing Education Gateway, The Herald is providing
a service for prospective students who have not yet obtained a place at
a Scottish university or college.
As compiler of the list Continuing Education Gateway has the full
support of the Committee of Scottish Higher Education Principals
(COSHEP) and the respective institutions.
Listed below are the vacancies which existed at 2pm on Monday of this
week. The information will be updated weekly and appear in The Herald on
three consecutive Wednesdays starting today.
For each entry the *UCAS course code (where applicable) is given in
brackets, and applicants may consult the UCAS handbook for further
information. Further course descriptions and details of any prescribed
subjects for admission are available in the individual institution's
prospectus.
The letters after the course code show the current going rate in SCE
Highers that will be considered. (It may be permissible to substitute
appropriate CSYS grades.) Where grades are not given, please check with
the institutions direct.
Institutions also welcome applicants with comparable alternative
qualifications. Enquiries can be made to the institutions direct, using
the telephone number given in the panel: quote your personal UCAS
application number, where appropriate.
Applications should subsequently be made through UCAS or in the case
of Bell College of Technology, Glasgow College of Building and Printing
and Glasgow College of Nautical Studies, direct to the institutions
concerned. Intending applicants not already in possession of the UCAS
Clearing Entry From and instruction leaflet should obtain them without
delay, by contacting:

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
