LEE Gaskell insists he is not finding the Championship "too easy" but the Bulls star admits he still considers himself a Super League player.

In rebuilding their squad following last season's relegation, Bradford's biggest coup by some distance was securing the signature of Gaskell.

He snubbed interest from top-flight clubs to stay loyal to the club despite them dropping into the second tier.

The stand-off has been highly influential in the opening weeks of the season, ripping up rival defences with eight tries and numerous assists.

"I don't think it's too easy but if you ask any Bradford player, I think they would say they are a Super League player – and I'm no different," said Gaskell.

"That's our main focus and you've got to believe you're a Super League player in order to get there at the end of the season.

"I'm happy with my form right now but I've got a bit of improvement in my game and can only get better. I think I speak for the team there as well – we can improve on Sunday's performance against Workington.

"I believe we're going to go places this season and we just need that confidence behind us now. We've got a chance to test ourselves against Super League opposition when Hull KR come to Odsal in the Challenge Cup.

"At the end of the season, if we're in the Super Eights, we've got to know where we are at and what improvements we need to make.

"We know it's going to be a very tough test because you saw what they did to St Helens on Friday night (won 24-22 to end Saints' 100 per cent start). It's going to be a good marker for us."

Gaskell showed glimpses of his awesome ability in Sunday's 36-6 win over Workington, creating tries for Danny Williams and Adam Henry with sumptuous kicks and bursting clear from 40 metres for a fine individual score himself.

The 24-year-old believes his partnership with Harry Siejka is working well and explained: "Harry is a good lad and a good organiser. We work well together and have got a good understanding, so it's a nice balance between us.

"We've got a good pack and players who run smart lines, which makes my job a lot easier to pick the right pass."

Gaskell is now relishing a busy Easter period which will see Jimmy Lowes' men face Halifax and Dewsbury within the space of four days.

He said: "It would be massive to get two wins there. They're both very good teams, so beating them would keep us ticking over nicely."

Adam Sidlow is expected to return to action against Halifax on Good Friday after being rested at the weekend due to a knock.
