The Yorkshire Schools' cricket team have arrived home from a two-week tour of Cape Town, having won all seven of their matches.

One of the highlights of the tour for the 13 players, 20 parents and seven officials was a day hosted by county legend Geoffrey Boycott and his wife Rachael at their Paarl home on the Pearl Valley Signature Golf Estate.

The boys enjoyed golf and swimming, followed by an evening reception and barbecue, which included a team talk and discussion with Boycott on how to reach the top in county and Test cricket.

Two members of the tour party were Jonathan Bairstow, son of former Yorkshire wicketkeeper David Bairstow, and Dominic Sharp, son of former Yorkshire batsman and current batting coach Kevin Sharp.

Matthew Higgins edged out skipper Chris Marsden for the Player of the Tour award. Chavez Younes won the most entertaining tourist award. Eight of the players are on Yorkshire's books.

Results were - Stellenbosch: Paul Roos High School 153-5 (Oliver Hannon-Dalby 2-13, Matthew Scarr 2-20), Yorkshire 156-7 (James Morgan 42no, Dominic Sharp 23). Paarl, Twenty-20 day-night triangular tournament: Yorkshire 134-4 (Jonathan Bairstow 28 no, Chris Marsden 27, James Morgan 27), Derbyshire Schools 93-4 (Ben Raven-Hill 3-18, Matthew Higgins 1-12). Final: Boland 107-8 (Chavez Younes 4-12, Marsden 3-14, Higgins 1-23), Yorkshire 108-3 (Bairstow 46no, Morgan 31). Paarl: Paarl Boys' High School 132 (Marsden 4-17, Sharp 3-29, Higgins 1-0), Yorkshire 133-3 (Marsden 58, Bairstow 23no, Tim Appleyard 20, Higgins 17no). Langa: Western Province Development XI 97 (Younes 4-26, Higgins 3-15, Hannon-Dalby 2-11), Yorkshire 101-9 (Sharp 23, Appleyard 16, Younes 15).
