TYERSAL Reserves are the new owners of an unwanted West Riding County Amateur League record.

The second-bottom Division Two side lost 27-0 at leaders Gildersome Spurs Old Boys to surpass the 26-0 thrashing that Trinity Athletic Reserves suffered at home to Rawdon Old Boys Reserves in the 1997-98 season.

Bradford FC, in their second season in the league, reached the semi-finals of the Division Two Cup with a 2-0 victory at Littletown Reserves. They next meet the Spurs sharp-shooters at the end of the month.

Dudley Hill Rangers stepped up their bid for promotion from Division One with a 2-1 home victory over Wibsey, Liam Carroll getting both Rangers' goals and Adam Cronin replying.

This victory took Rangers to the top ahead of Ventus-Yeadon Celtic, who returned home from third-placed Wakefield City as 4-0 losers.

Rob Bloomfield (2), Ryan Barker and Oliver Rawson netted as City completed a double over their promotion rivals.

The reserve teams of Campion and Steeton both picked up home wins to give them a chance of avoiding the drop.

A Matthew Warden brace plus a Louie Etienne penalty and a goal by Robert Coulter gave the Campion second string a 4-2 home success over Thornes.

Steeton Reserves netted all their goals in the first half during a 4-0 victory over Bradford Horton Sports, with Andy Briggs (2), Greg Hudson and Ben Sutcliffe scoring.

Campion's senior side clocked up their sixth successive Premier Division victory as they rattled five goals past hosts Kirkburton without reply. Steve Hollingsworth and Jordan Missin both struck twice to add to Andy Benjamin's effort.

Bay Athletic stay level on points (36) with second-placed Campion following their 4-1 home win against rock-bottom Tyersal. Simeon Fletcher, Danny Stocker, Wayne Shooter and Daniel Naidole scored for Bay, with Carlos Curtis netting the consolation.

Steeton moved up to seventh after two goals from Lee Reilly and one each by Graham Holmes and Mark McGee gave them a 4-1 success at Halifax Irish.

Salts and Hunsworth cancelled each other out in a 0-0 draw, while defending champions Ovenden West Riding – currently fourth with games in hand on all the teams above them – extended their goals tally to 70 in 14 league games with a 6-0 victory at Lower Hopton.

Meanwhile, Littletown eased their relegation fears with a 2-0 win at Storthes Hall, with Blake Maude and Reece Pollard on target for the Heckmondwike-based side.
