AFTER 13 games without a win, St Bede's turned the Division One table upside down in the Yorkshire Amateur League.

The second-bottom hosts defeated leaders Colton Athletic 3-2 – and this after the latter side had led 2-0 in the 51st minute.

Somehow Bede's found hidden reserves of energy and not only drew level through Karlis Turcins and Nathan Hurtault but also bagged a late winner courtesy of Tom Ware.

Not quite as seismic as the setback for Colton, who drop to second, was fourth-bottom Grangefield Old Boys Reserves' 4-3 home win over third-placed Leeds Independent.

On target for the in-form Old Boys, who are also through to the quarter-finals of the Leeds & District FA Cup and the semi-finals of the league's Hancock Cup, were Tom Carlisle (2), Sam Russell and Darren Dodsworth.

A superb 78th-minute header from Luke Kitson gave Farsley Celtic Juniors a 2-1 victory at Premier Division leaders Huddersfield Amateur after they had trailed 1-0 at half-time.

John Mallinson equalised with an opportunist goal three minutes into the second half and Celtic are now only three points behind Amateur with two games in hand, although unbeaten fourth-placed Ealandians trail Farsley by nine points with four matches in hand.

A half-time team talk did the trick for third-placed Grangefield Old Boys, who were 1-0 down to third-bottom Wigton Moor only to recover with goals from Ritchie Banks (48 minutes), Nuno Periera (70) and Grant Jackson (88), Periera's being his first for the club.

Gildersome Spurs Old Boys went down 6-0 at Old Batelians in the first round of the Yorkshire Old Boys' Shield, while hard work was not enough to save Calverley United from a 3-1 home defeat to Thornesians in the Championship Division.

Neil Cooper scored United's goal from the penalty spot after James Beaumont was brought down and they are still firmly at the bottom.

Fifth-placed Bainbridge extended their unbeaten run to eight games in Division Three with a 1-0 home victory over fourth-placed Churwell Lions.

The Lions dominated the early part of the second half as Bainbridge came to terms with an injury to midfielder Imam Asim Hussain. But the Bradford side took the lead from a Bilal Saleem corner, Zeeshan Khan smashing home from close range after Shoaib Hussain had laid the ball off.

Heckmondwike Grammar School Old Boys had gone seven games without a win but the sixth-placed club ended that sequence in style with an 8-2 home victory over FC Headingley Reserves, having only led 3-2 at half-time.

Goals came from Pat Davis (4), Dan Damen (2), Jordan Garrick and Dale Hanson – but they were trumped by Farsley Celtic Juniors Reserves, who won 13-0 at pointless Middleton Park Reserves to climb to third.

On target were Alex Gyte (7), Louis Edmonds (2), James Lowry, Ben Gekonge, Josh Sanz Carville and Jonathan Kasher.
