AS the women's football season enters its final furlong the race for honours is intensifying and games are coming thick and fast for the leading clubs.

Bradford City moved into third place in FA Women's Premier League (North) with a 2-0 win over Derby County, but have played more games than the other top-four clubs.

Goals from Charlotte Stuart and skipper Faye Boshell, from the penalty spot, secured the points against Derby and coach Steve Winterburn will be looking for more of the same on their trip to the West Midlands to face Albion Sporting tomorrow.

City's reserve team travel to Essex to face West Ham United, at Aveley, in the semi-final of the Reserve Division Cup. City are the holders and the game has been rearranged after last week's postponement.

Guiseley Vixens and Leeds had their West Riding League Premier Division matches called off last week but their promotion hopes were boosted by Liverpool Feds' defeat at Middlesbrough.

Guiseley are at home to Mossley Hill tomorrow while Leeds go to Stockport ahead of their County Cup semi-final with Bradford City three days later.

Brighouse Town and Farsley play their semi-final at Woodlesford next Wednesday (7.30), but before that Town are at home to lowly Tynedale hoping to build on last week's 3-0 win at Wakefield and maintain their title hopes in the North East Regional League.

Town are eight points behind leaders York City, with five games in hand, but more importantly just five behind favourites Hull City who have played two games more than them.

On target for Town at Wakefield were Julie Richardson, Shauna Messenger and Rachael White.

Farsley's 2-0 win over Southern Section leaders Westella and Willerby has given them an outside chance of promotion to the Premier Division.They entertain Malet Lambert ahead of their County Cup clash with Brighouse.

Keighley Oaks went down 5-1 at home to Ossett Town in the West Riding League Premier Division and look favourites to finish in bottom spot. They are at Silsden in the League Cup tomorrow while second-bottom Bradford Park Avenue visit Brayton Belles and Ossett Town host Brighouse Athletic.
