BRADFORD City women's FA Cup clash with Midland side FC Reedswood at Thackley tomorrow is in doubt after a return of the snow in the latter half of the week.

But Steve Winterburn's girls did manage to beat the weather on Tuesday and secure a place in the West Riding County Cup semi-final with a 3-0 win over Wetherby Athletic.

With the game switched to 3G pitch at Woodhouse Grove, City produced another disciplined performance to see off their North East Regional League opponents, who fought hard to make life tough for the cup holders. In the end goals from Olivia Thackray, Aqsa Mushtaq and Molly Sharpe swung the game City's way.

City will now meet arch-rivals Leeds in the last four at the County's Fleet Lane ground on March11 (7.30pm).

Ossett Albion's hopes of making that date suffered an immediate setback against Leeds Ladies in their quarter-final tie when a Shelby Morris goal after just 30 seconds set Leeds on the way to a 7-0 win.

Former City player Bridie Hannon, Emma Bentley, Sarah Lawn, Lauren Griffiths, Hannah Campbell and a late effort from Emily Starkie completed the scoring and, in the other leg of the draw, Farsley beat Bradford Park Avenue 2-1 with a last-minute goal and Brighouse Town beat Brayton Belles.

Park Avenue, with Sonia Penney outstanding in goal, battled well against their higher League opponents and former Farsley girl Vicky Mladenovic equalised Milly West's 74th-minute opener with six minutes to go. But, with extra time looming, Helen Gresty scrambled the ball home in the 89th minute to secure the win.

In the other tie, a first senior hat-trick for Eleanor Ciesielski was the outstanding feature as Brighouse Town stormed to a 4-0 win over County League side Brayton to set up a semi-final meeting with Farsley.

It has also been a good week for Bradford City's reserve side, who continued their defence of the FA Premier League's Reserve Division Cup with a 3-1 quarter-final victory over Derby County at Eccleshill United's Plumpton Park.

On target for double-chasing City were Abi Brown, Abi Barker and Aqsa Mushtaq, who followed her goal with one for the first team two days later. City are scheduled to play Guiseley Vixens, at Eccleshill, in the league tomorrow.

Bradford Park Avenue are hoping to be back in action in a rearranged Premier Division game at Harrogate Railway in Division Two of the West Riding League, leaders City A are at in-form Ilkley Town and Division Three side Tyersal are at Barryeford reserves in the League Shield.
