FRANCOIS Zoko rejected the chance to go elsewhere in League One to stick with City.

The Blackpool striker is yet to start a game in two months at Valley Parade but was happy to extend his loan for the rest of the season.

Phil Parkinson said: “He has had other options in this division who wanted to take him. It would have been easy for him to do that but he’s realised that Bradford are a big club.

“Zokes had a terrific record of scoring last year with Stevenage and we brought him in when we had injuries.

“Then all the strikers started scoring and doing well so his opportunities have been restricted. But he’s accepted it and never given us a minute’s problem.

“We want four strikers in the building and Zokes understands he’s going to have to compete for his place. But I do feel that when he gets a goal, and he’s been close, then he will really kick on.”

City’s trip to Swindon, originally scheduled for tomorrow, has been switched to Tuesday, February 24 – meaning they face five away games in 21 days.

Parkinson added: “We’ve got such a heavy schedule coming up that I didn’t want the squad to be weakened in terms of numbers.”

Young striker Oliver McBurnie has joined Chester on a month’s loan. Defender Niall Heaton has left for Nicky Law’s Alfreton.
