Steve Hodson caught an impressive seven chub for 26lb 10oz on float and maggot to win Sunday's open match at Cowthorpe. Two chub for Adrian Lewis gave him 5lb 7oz and second place, followed by Geoff Cox, with 4lb 12oz, and Colin Moore, with 4lb. The next open match is at Cowthorpe on Sunday, January 11, with tickets available from Simon on 01274-571175. Membership for 2015 will be available online (www.bradfordno1.com) and in all the usual tackle shops from this weekend, with prices starting at just £5 per year for juniors. Club merchandise is also now available from the website. Milby Cut Canal should be worth a visit this week for roach, perch and pike.

SKIPTON AA

Our annual meeting on Wednesday, January 14 (8pm) will be held at a different venue – the Cross Keys pub on Otley Road (opposite the white garage). All members are invited to attend to discuss and vote upon several resolutions. Most of the leading officials have indicated that they wish to step down, and this has resulted in additional positions being created to lessen the workload. Please come along to support the changes or put forward alternatives. Refreshments will be provided at the end of the meeting.

Christmas Cheer result (14 members fished in difficult weather conditions): 1 Nigel Bower, 6lb 14oz (peg 8), 2 Paul Whitehouse, 5lb 7oz (peg 30). Far bank section: Bob Hall,4lb 6oz (peg 36). Nearside bank section: Ian Jackson, 4lb 5oz (peg 25). Well done to all who fished the match, a total of 29lb of skimmers and bream being caught. Membership books in 2015 are now available from all the usual outlets. Final positions in the Fox Brother Aggregate Points Trophy: E Harrison 467 points, D Stephenson 254, W Barker 244. The winner of the match special award is D Jackson with a barbel of 6lb 12oz. The winner of the club trophy for most fish is E Harrison. The canal is still producing decent catches of pike. All catch reports welcome.
