NEW Bulls skipper Chev Walker is not fazed by the prospect of visiting some of the Championship’s less glamorous outposts next season.

Jimmy Lowes’ men face trips to the likes of Workington, Whitehaven, Featherstone, Dewsbury, Batley and Hunslet as they bid to bounce straight back into Super League.

Walker admits it will be a far cry from stadia such as Headingley and Langtree Park but he is up for the challenge ahead.

“I started my career in 1999 as a 16-year-old playing for Leeds but I had one year out in rugby union so I have experienced being away from Super League,” said Walker.

“There were some grounds in rugby union which were like the Championship grounds.

“The changing rooms were small and I’ve had a couple of Challenge Cup games where I’ve been up to Whitehaven and places like that.

“Although I’ve not had it week to week, I have experienced playing at these sort of grounds.

“It’s tough and I don’t think it is going to be hard to get up for Leigh and Featherstone because they’re at a standard like ourselves.

“They’re pushing to get into Super League, so it’s a matter of going up to places like Workington, Whitehaven and Hunslet and getting a result.

“That’s no disrespect to them because we are in the same league as them.

“But they’re going to be the tough ones to get yourself motivated for. It’s a new challenge and one we’re ready for.”
