CONFUSION reigned in the Bradford & District Junior League when undefeated Albion Sports under-eights hosted Horsforth St Margarets.

Both teams turned up in yellow shirts with blue stripes down the sides and, with no bibs being available, the chief difference was the blue flashes across Horsforth's shoulders.

Albion suffered their first defeat of the season in the Green Division, losing 7-4, and the home players blamed the similarity of kits for their setback.

Goal-scorers for Albion, as they lost for the first time in ten matches, were Muhammad Mustafa, Aarian Sarai, Shubham and Bobby Jo, while goalkeeper Ranveer Singh also played well.

Albion were dominant, having over 20 shots, and led for most of the contest in a game that whetted the appetite for the return fixture. Skilful skipper Mustafa, who also had two assists, has now scored 42 goals this season.

Albion may have lost their unbeaten record but Dudley Hill Rangers under-11s kept theirs in the Blue Division with a 5-2 victory over third-placed Sutton.

Karlson Ogie put Rangers in command with two early goals and Jake Softley made it 3-0 from close range before half-time.

However, Sutton twice caught Rangers out on the counter-attack in the second period, only for Ogie to complete his hat-trick. Anton Tavernier also scored past the Sutton goalkeeper, who was outstanding.

Dudley Hill Rangers under-nines blues were locked at 2-2 against Leeds Maccabi Jets at three-quarter time but also won 5-2.

Luke Jeffrey's volley was a choice effort and Brody Pimperton burst the net with his goal, before Jeffrey (2) and Adam Morris completed the scoring.

Rangers under-tens continue to be stylish and free-scoring, putting 13 goals past Stanningley Albion without reply.

There were hat-tricks for Joel Beaumont and George Edge, with Cormac O'Brien (2), Dominic Parish (2), Jack Tostevin, Jodie Tiffany and Harry Kaye completing the tally.

Bottom-of-the-table Dalton Dynamos under-11s scored first at Wyke Wanderers in the Huddersfield RCD League but the hosts shed their nerves to win 6-2.

Ellis Farrar and Jack Leach put them 2-1 ahead by half-time and Stan Cahill made it 3-1 before Dalton replied.

Leach then completed his hat-trick, with Kamran Latif also on target to set up a tasty encounter at third-placed Drighlington Jedis, who are a point and a place above Wyke.

Meanwhile, Wibsey Lions under-11s got back to winning ways in Division Six with a 4-2 triumph over Greetland Stars. Jay Cunningham scored twice, with Jamie Taylor and Callum Bower also on target.

Wibsey's under-13s stay top of Division Three, despite losing 2-0 to second-placed Westend, with Wibsey never recovering after disputing a penalty decision.

Bradford Park Avenue under-12s went down 7-0 at leaders Battyeford in a Division Two mudbath, Aaron Midgely taking the man of the match award for the losers.

Avenue B were blown away in the opening ten minutes by ruthless visitors Hepworth United C on the way to a 9-2 defeat, although stand-in keeper Ben Boardall kept the score down.

Despite falling behind, Bradford Warriors under-12s booked a tie against Shelley in the League Cup by defeating Meltham 7-2.

Roberto McFarlane continued his goal-scoring spree with four more to take his tally to 29 in nine matches, with Brandon McDonagh, Ben Cockroft and man of the match Jordan Styslo also on the mark.

Warriors under-nines played some pleasing stuff in despatching Eccleshill 8-1 with strikes by man of the match Jack Mahon (4), Maison Strangeway (2) and Mason Martin, plus an own goal.

It was closer for Warriors' under-eights Blues, who had goalkeeper Joshua Stone to thank for a 4-3 victory over Wyke Wanderers A 4-3. The marksmen were Alfie Smith (2), Harry Varley and Harry Grievson.

The club's Whites almost pulled off a great comeback against Wyke Wanderers B, only losing 6-5 after trailing 5-1.

Their goals came from Harry Horan (2), Brandon Goldsborough (2) and Joseph McCallion, while Declan Jordan was man of the match.

Warriors under-sevens scored some cracking goals in their 12-0 defeat of Cleckheaton, with Jason Duffy (3), Cale Gomersall (3), Harry Coup (2), Declan Puddicombe (2), Luke Bateman and man of the match Alfie Gibson on target.

Thackley Reds under-16s kept up their perfect record as they saw off Prospect Reds 15-2 in Division C of the Craven, Aire & Wharfe League.

Callum Churm led the way by netting a double hat-trick, with Connor Raistrick and captain and man of the the match Jack I'Anson bagging single hat-tricks. Danny Grimshaw (2) and Harvey Usher completed the romp.
